Next meeting - April 3rd!

Bonjour à tous,

Well, it is time to take the next meeting indoors. By the gracious invitation of newbies Jan-Marie and Daniele (Thank you), we will be having a pot-luck dinner at Sudbury South Suites.

Join us for an evening of great food and scintillating conversation. Bring your favourite dish or use us as guinea pigs for your latest culinary experiment! For this event we would ask that you RSVP at sudburynewbies@yahoo.ca with the number of people attending and what dish you plan to bring (i.e. entrée, salad, dessert, etc). Although we love desserts (as evidenced by the amount of sweets the newbies enjoyed at William’s Coffee Pub) we would like to avoid 20 cakes for the pot-luck =)

This social will occur on Sunday, April 3rd. All are invited to arrive at 16:30 at the Four Corner’s Sudbury South Suites which is located at 2293 Treeview Road. For a map, click on the Sudbury South Suites link to the right, under Member Links.

As usual, we have “Newbies icebreakers” planned for the evening and look forward to welcoming other newbies into the group. Ç’a nous fera un grand plaisir de vous accueillir parmi nous.

Bis dann!

We skated the day away!

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon! We, the Sudbury Newbies spent the majority of the afternoon getting to know each other in a Canadian way... skating. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and after a little game of tag we were all warmed up.
We even had a visitor, Lara, from the Sudbury Star who wanted to know more about this new group and maybe even join us for a Sunday skate. So keep your eyes posted for the Sudbury Newbies' article in the paper.
For some of us it was the first time skating on Ramsey and for others, well it has become a new Sudbury Sunday tradition. We even had the chance to see a huge quinsie (a snow cave). This quinsie was made buy a guy named Chris Whissell, a local Sudburian who loves to play in the snow.
After a few hours we decided it was time to warm up at a coffee shop downtown called William's Coffee Pub, where we had a variety of warm beverages and some delicious desserts!
We spent sooo much time socializing that we didn't even realize it was nearly 5pm and the cafe was closing for the day!!
What a great sunny Sunday in Sudbury!

Skating on Ramsey Lake

Well gang, it's time to strap on the skates and enjoy this winter wonderland.
Skating on Lake Ramsey, the watery jewel of Sudbury!

On Sunday, March 13th, we will meet at the front doors to Science North at 13:00.
Join us for some skating fun and "Newbies icebreakers" to be followed by hot chocolate and sweets at William's Coffee Pub.

Venez vous amuser tandis qu'il y a de la glace sur le lac. Votre récompense pour cette aventure : des joues rouges et de nouveaux ami(e)s.

Bis bald,
Pierre
